Veteran Italian footballer Claudio Marchisio bids emotional farewell to Juventus after 25 years with the club
The 32-year-old who was born and raised in Turin, made his professional debut in Serie B in 2006 and went on to play 389 times for Juventus.
Following the confirmation of his departure, Marchisio posted an emotional goodbye to social media, alongside a picture of him playing as a child in Juventus kit.
He wrote: 'I can't stop looking at this photograph and these stripes on which I wrote my life as a man and a footballer.
'I love this shirt to the point that, despite everything, I am convinced that the good of the team comes first. All the time.'
'Having had the opportunity to accompany him on this path, to discover a homegrown champion, day by day, was quite simply a privilege and an honour,' Juve said in a statement.
Juventus manager Massimiliano Allegri said on Twitter: 'I thank Marchisio for his years of fine service for this club. In my four seasons here, he has been a great player, man and professional.'
Marchisio who made a total of 389 appearances in all competitions, scoring 37 goals, and won seven Serie A titles as well as four Coppa Italias, capped 55 times for Italy.
